Charles Bezerra, Ph.D.

Charles Bezerra received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2000. He holds a master’s degree in Production Engineering (UFSC-Brazil) and an undergraduate degree in Industrial Design (UFPE-Brazil). He was a visiting professor at University of Illinois at Chicago and has worked as an international consultant for Steelcase for two years.

Today, he teaches at a Brazilian Federal University and works as the director of research for Design Strategy and Research in Brazil. He has been involved in several projects for national and multinational companies. His spare-time work focuses on the logic, complexity and information structure of strategic design processes.

He enjoys reading about analytical philosophy, evolutionary biology and to spend the weekends with his wife on a white-sand-beach in the northeast of Brazil.
